Stef joins Geolytix from academia, bringing expertise in Geospatial Artificial Intelligence (GeoAI). Her research develops spatially explicit approaches to urban analytics and examines the use of generative artificial intelligence in geography. At Geolytix, she contributes her experience in deep learning and graph neural networks to the development of Geospatial Foundation Models (GeoFMs).

Stef was Associate Professor of Geographical Information Science at the University of Leicester, and Chair of the Geographic Information Science Research Group of the Royal Geographical Society with IBG. She was previously a Researcher at the Oxford Internet Institute and a Junior Research Fellow at Wolfson College, University of Oxford. She holds a PhD from the University of Zurich and a BSc and MSc in computer science from the University of Udine.
